MICRODERMABRASION PERTH
Frequently asked questions
How does microdermabrasion work?
During microdermabrasion in Perth, micro-crystals are propelled at high speed across the skin's surface to abrade the tissue. Control of abrasion depth is continuous, fast and easy. All resulting skin debris is vacuumed into a waste bottle for disposal. The technique is very quick and relatively painless, and the results are immediate — as evidenced by the high levels of client satisfaction with the treatment. There are very few contraindications or side-effects. Most commonly, the areas treated are the face (including around the eyes), neck, décolletage (chest), shoulders and back.
Is microdermabrasion safe?
Ultrapeel® microdermabrasion is a proven closed-loop technology, meaning that no part of the machine used on the client's skin comes into contact with the machine itself. This prevents contamination by bacteria, viruses or residual exfoliated tissue. The procedure is therefore completely safe for both the client and the
dermal therapist.
Who should have microdermabrasion?
Anyone interested in facial and/or body peeling without the use of chemicals. Also, those who do not wish to interrupt their lives while waiting for their skin to return to normal after an alternative treatment. Microdermabrasion significantly improves the appearance of ageing skin, as well as dry, oily, dull, congested and/or blemished skin. Moreover, it can be used to treat enlarged pores, wrinkles, acne, scarring, hyperpigmentation and stretchmarks. Also, it may be prescribed as a pre-treatment for other procedures, such as IPL and skin peels.
What happens during the treatment?
The corundum crystal powder used during
Ultrapeel® microdermabrasion is introduced to the skin's surface via a sterile, 45° angled tip. Depending on the area of the body and the condition being treated, the action can be very gentle (for superficial exfoliation) or more aggressive (for deeper medical treatments). The angled tip allows the skin to be polished in a very controlled and comfortable way, thereby achieving the most efficient and least traumatic action as quickly as possible.
How long does a treatment take?
Between 20 and 60 minutes, depending on the area and the condition being treated.
How many treatments would I need?
On average, the number of treatments required varies from six to ten sessions, depending on the type of skin, as well as the area and the condition, being treated.
How soon will I see results?
Improvement is gradual but constant. The end result is smoother, softer, younger-looking, healthy skin.
